At Christmas the whole family are included in the celebrations. There is special food to eat and this is often chosen by the whole family-family members may also help out in the cooking of Christmas meals. Nowadays many families have pets and they like to include their cat or dog in the Christmas celebrations. For a long time there have been coats on sale for cats and dogs to keep them warm and dry in the winter-pet Christmas costumes are a natural progression from this. All this may seem a bit extreme but Americans are very fond of their pets and buying pet Christmas costumes is simply another way of including your pet in the celebrations. Children really enjoy including pets in the Christmas celebrations in this way and will have fun with their pet; helping to dress them and then showing them off to their friends.
